History
Old First Nursery School was founded in 1959 as a parent-run cooperative school. We are the oldest cooperative nursery school in New York City. The school has rented space from Old First Dutch Reformed Church in Park Slope for over sixty years; while we are proud to have such a special, community-based location, we are completely independent from the church and do not have any religious component or affiliation. Throughout its history, Old First Nursery School has been committed to building a strong, supportive community and to providing progressive, play-based education in a warm, nurturing environment.
